It's really a shame that there are communities in New Hampshire that prohibit the use of fireworks. Many people who relocate to NH expect to be able to do so without restrictions. I remember a few months back a new neighbor was enjoying setting of a show and almost immediately the police came and that was the end of that, plus his stash was confiscated. They had no idea that my town didn't allowed shooting fireworks and the stuff they were lighting was purchased from the next town over. Granted, there does exist a list of towns that either allow, prohibit or require a permit to shoot displays, but most people aren't aware of it.

Most people who relocate to New Hampshire aren't doing it for the pyro laws wink.gif . I guess if you arent a hobbyist, you may not know the laws, but if you shoot more than a few cakes a year (or you got busted by the police), I would say most are aware of the town rules (not to mention which towns actually enforce them or not). They may not be perfect, but the're the most friendly pyro laws in New Engalnd. Just my .02

You have a good point, as I grew up in MA where even sparklers were illegal. It's funny but I remember just about every neighborhood in MA having backyard displays, even more so on the beach. In NH there are towns that are quiet on the 4th even if it's legal for that town. The only explanation I can come up with for this is that in states where fireworks are banned, fireworks seem more alluring for them. Don't get me wrong, NH's lakes region can get very patriotic in June/July!

Cheesy fountains and sparklers are allowed in my state of CT and it's a joke!
I would rather not have them at all.....Those aren't Fireworks......To me that's just a waste and the government of CT can go screw!

As a kid, seeing fountains and sparklers made me happy. As an adult, judging the break diameter of a shell makes me feel critical. Call me crazy, but lately I've been more and more drawn to fountains again.

Fountains certainly do have there place in a show. Coachtimmy on the PU forum - his daughter did an all ftn. display at our OPEN SHOOT this past Friday - very nicely done - and for a10 yr old to boot! And this was all ematched to a remote - phenominal! biggrin.gif

http://www.pyrouniverse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20301 go to post #38 to see pics, and I think #39 has a link to his daughters fountains display. Check the other links also - some very nice boards done!

Your neighbor should keep his stash in the garage, or hidden elsewhere, and slowly light them off and tell the Cops to come back with a warrant.

It is pretty bad in parts of Washington too. Thankfully I have a place outside the city in an unincorporated area to light mine off.
